Proceeding with power steering link assembly removal requires that you ensure front wheel direction points straight ahead and disconnect the negative battery terminal cable. Secure the steering wheel with a seat belt after removing front wheels to keep it from rotating because this protection will prevent damage to the spiral cable. There are two stages for this operation: first remove the bolt to slide the steering sliding yoke with the rack and pinion remaining assembled and apply matchmarks to both components before separate them. The left tie rod assembly separation requires removal of the cotter pin and nut followed by utilization of Special Service Tool: 09628-00011 to disconnect it from the steering knuckle while avoiding damages to the steering knuckle and its adjacent components including front disc brake dust cover and ball joint dust cover. Perform these instructions also on the right tie rod assembly. Proceed to remove the engine assembly with transaxle using the particular instructions available for 2AZ-FE or 2GR-FE engine versions. You need Special Service Tool: 09023-12701 when you disconnect the pressure feed tube assembly from the rack and pinion on both the return tube side and pressure feed tube side before you can take off the two bolts to separate the pressure feed tube clamp. The rack and pinion removal process starts by unscrewing both bolts and two nuts while watching out for the predefined stopper on the nut and finishing up by removing the rack and pinion housing heat insulator when dealing with the 2GR-FE engine.

Remove the cotter pin and nut, then use Special Service Tool: 09628-00011 to separate it from the steering knuckle.

Tighten the pressure feed tube assembly on the pressure feed tube side using Special Service Tool: 09023-12701 to a torque of 22 Nm (227 kgf-cm, 16 ft-lbf); without the tool, torque to 25 Nm (250 kgf-cm, 18 ft-lbf). Repeat this process for the return tube side.

Mark the tie rod assembly LH and the steering rack end sub-assembly, loosen the lock nut, and remove the tie rod assembly LH along with the lock nut, then perform the same procedure for the RH side.

Coat the power steering control valve subassembly with power steering fluid and install it into the control valve housing, taking care not to damage the spacers or oil seal lip.
