Mass Air Flow Sensor

You should start servicing the Mass Air Flow Sensor (MAF) by undoing the air cleaner cap with the Mass Air Flow Sensor and its connector wire clamp while loosening the air cleaner hose clamp and disconnecting the air hose then freeing the 4 cap clips to separate the air cleaner cap together with the Mass Air Flow Sensor. The service begins with removing 4 nuts and the Mass Air Flow Sensor along with its gasket from the air cleaner cap. Placement of a new gasket on the air cleaner cap must be followed by Mass Air Flow Sensor installation using the 4 nuts while maintaining a torque force of 8.5 N.m (85 kgf.cm, 74 in.lbf). The Mass Air Flow Sensor installation process ends with placement of the sensor onto the air cleaner cap.

The service procedure starts by removing the Mass Air Flow Sensor with air cleaner cap which requires disconnecting the Mass Air Flow Sensor connector and wire clamp followed by loosening the air cleaner hose clamp and disconnecting the air hose from the air cleaner cap and then removing the 4 clips to take out both devices. Starting by breaking open the 4 nuts allows you to remove the Mass Air Flow Sensor with its gasket that was attached to the air cleaner cap. Install new gaskets on the air cleaner cap before attaching the Mass Air Flow Sensor through four nuts while tightening them to 8.5 N.m (85 kgf.cm, 74 in.lbf). Placement of the Mass Air Flow Sensor intersects with the air cleaner cap.

First, remove the air cleaner case by disconnecting the air cleaner hose and the MAF meter connector, then remove the 3 bolts securing the air cleaner case.

Remove the air cleaner case by disconnecting the air cleaner hose and the MAF meter connector, then remove the 3 bolts securing the air cleaner case.

Remove the 4 nuts, the MAF meter, and the gasket from the air cleaner cap.
