Lighter Assembly

The first step to remove the center cigarette lighter socket requires the removal of lower instrument panel finish panels beginning with the left side followed by the right side of the vehicle. The process for manual transaxle vehicles requires removal of shift lever knob sub-assembly and the center No. 1 instrument cluster finish panel assembly. When working on automatic transaxle vehicles duplicates the procedure to remove shift lever knob sub-assembly along with center No. 1 instrument cluster finish panel assembly. After you should remove both the instrument panel box assembly along with the upper console panel sub-assembly. Disconnect the connector at the center cigarette lighter socket assembly after you separate part of the No. 1 console box silencer pad to extract the wire harness before installation. A screwdriver can be used to disconnect the claw which removes the center cigarette lighter socket assembly while the subsequent loose of two claws permits the removal of the center cigarette lighter socket cover.

Install the instrument panel box assembly.
