The cord assembly for controlling the hood lock starts by inserting it into the engine space while guiding the back end through the grommet until the stopper attaches then guiding the front section through the upper radiator support to clamp in the cable. Insert the hood lock control hood cable assembly to the hood lock control lever sub-assembly by using three claws to secure the installation of the hood lock lever. To install the hood lock assembly first lubricate its sliding areas with MP grease before installing it with a connector, hood lock control hood cable and torquing the 2 bolts and a nut to 8.0 Nm (82 kgf-cm, 71 in-lbf). The hood lock requires adjustment together with inspection before applying a new hood lock nut cap. After installing the hood lock control hood cable cover with its installed clamp you need to tighten the screw and nut to 4.0 Nm (41 kgf-cm, 35 in-lbf).

The Hood Cable Assembly installation starts with passing the cable into the engine room then through the grommet from behind until the cable stopper reaches its position. The front section of the cable must pass through the upper radiator support before securing it to the display clamps following the provided diagrams. The hood cable installation process begins with attaching it to the hood lock lever followed by the secure attachment of the 2 claw fasteners to the hood lock lever. To assemble the Hood Lock you need to apply MP grease at its sliding components followed by Hood Cable connection and Hood Lock installation. You should attach the two bolts and nut and torque them to 8.0 Nm (82 kgf-cm, 71 in-lbf) before adding the new cap. For vehicles with Theft Deterrent System attach the connector. Apply a screw and nut to attach the clamp in order to secure the Hood Cable Cover for installation.

The service procedure for Hood Cable Assembly starts by removing the hood cable cover after unscrewing its screw and removing its cap and nut while detaching the clamp. The first step requires removing the hood lock assembly by unscrewing two bolts and a nut as well as removing the hood lock; disconnect the hood cable if available with the Theft Deterrent System. The next step requires the detachment of two claws which allows you to take out the hood lock control lever sub-assembly after disconnecting the hood cable. When removing the hood cable assembly you need a screwdriver to detach it from the clamps while taping the screwdriver tip first before pulling it from the engine room. Wires should be fed to the engine room through the grommet until the cable stopper locks before routing through the upper radiator support for clamp attachment. The installation of the hood lock lever begins when you reconnect the hood cable to its destination and fasten the 2 claws. Examine the lock sliding surfaces before coating them with MP grease then attach the hood cable and put the hood lock into position by tightening the 2 bolts and nut to 8.0 N.m (82 kgf.cm, 71 in.lbf). Lastly, install a new cap unless the vehicle has a Theft Deterrent System which requires a connector. Complete the cable cover installation by securing the clamp with screw as well as nut.

Disengage the 3 claws to disconnect the hood lock control cable and remove the hood lock control lever sub-assembly.

Remove the hood lock control lever sub-assembly by detaching the 2 claws and disconnecting the hood lock control cable to take out the hood lock lever.

Apply MP grease to the sliding areas of the lock, connect the hood lock control cable, and install the hood lock using 2 bolts and a nut, torqued to 8.0 Nm (82 kgf-cm, 71 in-lbf).
