Injector

The first step to remove the fuel injector for the 2ZR-FE engine requires fuel system pressure discharge. The maintenance procedure starts with head cover removal from the No. 2 cylinder then moves to ventilation hose extraction. The engine wire harness needs disconnection by removing its 3 bolts together with the harness clamp and 4 fuel injector connectors. First disconnect all five wire harness clamps and after that remove two bolts to detach the two harness bracket assemblies. The first step is to detach both the No. 1 fuel vapor feed hose and the vacuum hose before unfastening the fuel pipe clamp. Before disconnecting the fuel tube sub-assembly pinch the retainer of the fuel tube connector then pull it out using your hands while taking care to prevent foreign material from reaching the connector and to avoid using tools or forcing the nylon tube. Replace the harness parts with vinyl bags after unlinking them. The process of releasing stuck fuel tube connector and pipe requires both pushing and pulling actions. To extract the fuel delivery pipe sub-assembly you need to unattach the bolt together with the 2 additional bolts but be careful not to let the fuel injectors fall. The technicians need to pull 4 fuel injectors out of the fuel delivery pipe after they remove both No. 1 delivery pipe spacers and all 4 injector vibration insulators. The technicians should keep the injectors in plastic bags to prevent contamination.

While turning the fuel injector left and right, install it onto the fuel delivery pipe, ensuring not to twist the O-ring.
