The windshield glass removal needs a beginning step of disconnecting the negative terminal cable from the battery then waiting 90 seconds to stop Air Bag and seat belt pretensioner activation. First remove the front door opening trim LH by partially detaching the Weather Strip followed by the exact procedure for the RH side. The service technician should remove the front pillar garnish LH and RH followed by the inner rear view mirror assembly, the room light assembly, the assist grip cover and sub-assembly front and visor assemblies LH and RH along with the visor holder before setting the roof headliner somewhat below its original position without complete removal. The removal process starts with separating the front wiper arm head cap from the front wiper arm and blade assemblies LH and RH followed by taking away the front fender to cowl side seals LH and RH and the No. 2 windshield moulding outside LH and RH using a clip and claw tool and applying protective tape to the vehicle body then heating the moulding and tying piano wire to wooden blocks before cutting adhesive tape and dislodging clip and fastener. Apply the identical method to remove and replace the No. 1 windshield outside fastener. Cut the cowl top ventilator louver and the front window moulding inner center carefully with knife tools. The procedure for windshield glass removal begins with disconnecting the connector if the vehicle has a deicer feature before applying protective tape to the body followed by inserting the piano wire between glass and body. Then tie handles to the wire ends and place matchmarks when reinstalling the glass and cut through adhesive before disengaging stoppers and removing the glass using suction cups. You should prepare the windshield glass by removing all damaged adhesive and stoppers while utilizing white gasoline to clean its edges. Remove excess adhesive from the body before cleaning it with the recommended solution. The installer must dry Primer G on glass areas designated for spacers before putting in two new spacers. After applying Primer G to the glass edge and contact surface add the No. 1 windshield glass stopper and window glass adhesive dam then install the windshield outside moulding before waiting for the specified downtime. Further installation steps require sensitive glass placement with suction cups followed by validation of contact areas then the application of matchmarks next to the exposed body and usage of Toyota Genuine Windshield Glass Adhesive or Equivalent as well as installation with proper alignment of matchmarks and protective tape placement until adhesive hardens. Reinstall the cowl top ventilator louver, the No. 2 and No. 1 windshield outside moulding fasteners, the No. 2 windshield moulding outside LH and RH, the front fender to cowl side seals LH and RH, the front wiper arm and blade assemblies LH and RH, the front wiper arm head cap, the roof headlining, the visor holder, the visor assemblies LH and RH, the assist grip sub-assembly, the assist grip cover, the room light assembly, the inner rear view mirror assembly, the front pillar garnishes LH and RH, the front door opening trims LH and RH, conduct a leak test after the adhesive has hardened, seal any leaks with auto glass sealer, and finally reconnect the cable to the negative battery terminal.

Lower the front section of the roof headlining without completely removing it.

Remove the front wiper arm head cap, the front wiper arm and blade assembly LH and RH.

Use the same procedure as for the No. 2 windshield outside moulding fastener.
