    Begin power steering rack and pinion assembly with Special Service Tool 09612-00012 by locking the power steering rack and pinion assembly yet avoid vise-use with excessive tightness. Place silicon grease inside the small opening of the No. 2 rack and pinion boot before fitting it onto the rack housing groove while being cautious of both damage and boot twisting. Repetition of this installation method should occur for the No. 1 rack and pinion boot. The technician tightens the two clamps for the No. 2 rack and pinion boot with Special Service Tool: 09521-24010 while maintaining 3.0 mm (0.119 in.) standard clearance or less for the boot but taking care to avoid boot damage. Use pliers to install the two boot clips by placing their claws in the proper position. Place the matchmarks of the tie rod and rack end in alignment then install the tie rod temporarily with the lock nut before toe-in adjustment to tighten the lock nut to 69 Nm (704 kgf-cm, 51 ft-lbf). The correct procedures should also be applied for installing the tie rod end sub-assembly RH.
