The service on ABS models starts with disconnecting the ABS speed sensor wire harness clamp after removing the two bolts from the steering knuckle and upper suspension arm with a torque set to 8.0 Nm (82 kgf-cm, 71 inch lbs.). Secondly remove the upper ball joint by unfastening the nut through 60° after loosening it to a torque of 105 Nm (1,100 kgf-cm, 80 ft. lbs.) and if improper alignment of the cotter pin hole occurs tighten the nut additionally. Special Service Tool 09950-40011 (or its variants 09951-04010, 09952-04010, 09953-04020, 09954-04010, 09955-04031, 09958-04011) provides a secure method to remove the upper ball joint after steadying the steering knuckle. To remove the upper suspension arm you must first detach the nut and bolt while also removing two washers and reinstall it with a torque of 115 Nm (1,200 kgf-cm, 87 ft. lbs.) when the suspension is stable. Guarantee to check the front wheel alignment during the final stage of installation.

Service or repair of the upper control arm starts with removing the shock absorber with coil spring for all RZN191L-TRPDKAB, RZN196L-CRPDKAB, PZN196L-PRPDKAB, VZN195L-CRPDKAB, and VZN195L-PRPDKAB models. Models with ABS require removing the 2 bolts from the wire harness clamp of the steering knuckle and upper suspension arm after achieving a torque of 8.0 Nm (82 kgf-cm, 71 inch lbs.). During ball joint disconnect you should loosen the nut to 105 Nm (1,100 kgf-cm, 80 ft. lbs.) but further increase torque up to 60 degrees when misalignment occurs in the cotter pin hole. The upper ball joint requires disconnect using Special Service Tool 09950-40011 (09951-04010, 09952-04010, 09953-04020, 09954-04010, 09955-04031, 09958-04011) which allows support to the steering knuckle before removing the nut. To remove the upper suspension arm first unscrew the nut, bolt and two washers reaching a torque setting of 115 Nm (1,200 kgf-cm, 87 ft. lbs.) after stabilizing the suspension. The front wheel alignment should be checked once you finish installing the components.

Take off 2 nuts from the lower suspension arm with a torque of 150 Nm (1,530 kgf-cm, 111 ft. lbs.) and then remove the nut and spring bumper with a torque of 43 Nm (440 kgf-cm, 32 ft. lbs.).

Use Special Service Tool: 09628-62011 to disconnect the lower ball joint from the lower suspension arm, taking care not to damage the lower ball joint boot.

Use Special Service Tool: 09922-10010 to remove the No. 1 and No. 2 spring bumpers, applying a torque of 23 Nm (235 kgf-cm, 17 ft. lbs.) and using a torque wrench with a fulcrum length of 345 mm (13.58 inches) during installation.

Remove the nut, bolt, and 2 washers, applying a torque of 115 Nm (1,200 kgf-cm, 87 ft. lbs.) during installation after stabilizing the suspension.
