Front wheel removal is necessary to inspect pad lining thickness on models RZN191L-TRPDKAB, RZN196L-CRPDKAB, RZN196L-PRPDKAB, VZN195L-CRPDKAB and VZN195L-PRPDKAB. The replacement process must begin when the lining thickness is below 1.0 mm (0.039 inch). The service begins with clip removal and pin and anti-rattle spring extraction after which you should handle two pads together with four anti-squeal shims. Save these components for future use only if they remain in good shape. Before pad installation check the disc thickness while performing runout tests and replace anti-squeal shims with new pads while performing the procedure. Install the anti-rattle spring along with 2 pins before putting on the clip followed by reinstallation of the front wheel using 103 Nm (1,050 kgf-cm, 76 ft. lbs.) torque. Conduct several brake pedal depressions afterward to verify the fluid reaches the maximum line.

Begin pad replacement for the RZN191L-TRPDKAB and its similar models RZN196L-CRPDKAB RZN196L-PRPDKAB VZN195L-CRPDKAB VZN19SL-PRPDKAB by first removing the wheel for pad lining thickness examination before pad installation when the lining exceeds 1.0 mm (0.039 inch). Start by removing the clip together with two pins and an anti-rattle spring. Then remove the two pads next followed by the four anti-squeal shims. Reuse the anti-rattle spring and clip only if both components show good condition. To complete this process you should push down on the brake pedal several times while closely observing that the fluid sits at the maximum line.

Apply disc brake grease to both sides of the inner anti-squeal shims before installing them onto the new pads.

First, remove the front wheel and inspect the pad lining thickness through the caliper inspection hole, replacing the pads if the thickness is less than 1.0 mm (0.039 inch).

After that, install the anti-rattle spring and 2 pins, followed by the clip, and then reinstall the front wheel, torquing it to 103 Nm (1,050 kgf-cm, 76 ft. lbs.).

Remove the two brake pads along with four anti-squeal shims, the pad wear indicator plate, and the four pad support plates.

Install the inner pad with the wear indicator plate facing downward, followed by the outer pad, ensuring no oil or grease contacts the rubbing face.
