Tail Pipe

The first step to remove an exhaust pipe for a 2ZR-FE engine is to begin by removing the manual transaxle shift lever knob sub-assembly. Start by removing the upper console panel and then proceed to take out the rear console box cover along with console box carpet and rear console box sub-assembly. Take out the front console box as the next step of the procedure. Next in the procedure you should detach the heated oxygen sensor. Start by removing the exhaust tail pipe assembly by extracting two bolts and two compression springs which leads to the removal of the two exhaust pipe supports. Use a plastic hammer to drive out the exhaust tail pipe baffle sub-assembly. To remove the front floor center brace start by taking out the 2 bolts weaved into its structure. The front exhaust pipe assembly needs to be disassembled through the removal of 2 bolts along with 2 compression springs before removing the 3 exhaust pipe supports in succession.

Remove the front exhaust pipe assembly by detaching the 2 bolts and 2 compression springs, followed by the 3 exhaust pipe supports and the front exhaust pipe assembly.

Take off the shift lever knob sub-assembly for the manual transaxle.

Install the 3 exhaust pipe supports, then attach the front exhaust pipe assembly using 2 compression springs and 2 bolts, torquing them to 43 Nm (438 kgf-cm, 32 ft-lbf).
