Ignition Lock Cylinder

Start with placing the ignition switch lock cylinder assy at the ACC position and using a screwdriver to push down the stop pin before pulling out the cylinder assy. The maintenance process requires detachment of the un-lock warning switch assy connector from the ignition or starter switch assembly while leaving out the un-lock warning switch assembly. The ignition or starter switch assembly should be removed from the steering column bracket assembly by unfastening its 2 screws. The installation of the ignition or starter switch assy requires placing it onto the steering column bracket assy and securing it using the 2 screws. After ensuring the ignition switch lock cylinder Assy points to the ACC position you should install the un-lock warning switch assy while connecting its connector to the ignition or starter switch assy. The last step involves testing the steering lock function through assessment of the mechanism which should engage upon key removal but unlock upon key insertion followed by turning to ACC position.
