Service and repair of the brake caliper begins by removing the front wheel and fastening the disc with hub nuts before tightening them to 104 Nm (1,050 kgf-cm, 77 ft. lbs.). The brake caliper maintenance starts with breaking down the flexible hose by removing its union bolt and two gaskets from the caliper followed by hose detachment at 29 Nm torque (300 kgf-cm, 21 ft. lbs.). A container should be used for draining brake fluid. Installation should involve locking the flexible hose into the caliper's lock hole position. Start by engaging the sliding pin and then remove the 2 installation bolts before taking the caliper away from the torque plate with a torque of 34 Nm (350 kgf-cm, 25 ft. lbs.). Extract the 2 brake pads together with their associated 4 anti-squeal shims and 4 pad support plates. The installation process requires following reverse removal steps while accomplishing brake fluid filling into the reservoir before bleeding the system and inspecting for leaks as a final step of installation.

Measure the disc runout using a dial indicator at a position 10 mm (0.39 inch) from the edge, ensuring it does not exceed the maximum runout of 0.05 mm (0.0020 inch).

Remove the caliper from the torque plate.
