    Q:
How to install an A/C Condenser assembly and charge the refrigerant on Toyota Prius? Posted by Customer
    A:
Before installation of the condenser assembly with receiver use 2 bolts that need a torque of 3.9 Nm (40 kgf-cm, 35 in-lbf) and follow new condenser replacement with 40 cc (1.4 fl. oz.) of ND-OIL 11 or its equivalent compressor oil. The installation requires fixing the two angles onto the condenser unit. The installation of radiator support sub-assembly upper RH requires 4 bolts tightened to 5.0 Nm (51 kgf-cm, 44 in-lbf), 3.9 Nm (40 kgf-cm, 35 in-lbf) and 7.5 Nm (76 kgf-cm, 66 in-lbf). Apply the same installation method to connect the radiator support sub-assembly upper LH. To connect pipe E for cooler refrigerant liquid to the cooler unit, users should remove existing vinyl tape from disconnected components followed by installing a new O-ring before applying ND-OIL 11 on both the O-ring and fitting surfaces. The condenser pipe needs to be attached using a bolt tightened to 5.4 Nm (55 kgf-cm, 47 in-lbf). The discharge hose sub-assembly demands the same procedure of vinyl tape removal followed by an O-ring installation and ND-OIL 11 application before securing it to the condenser with a bolt at 5.4 Nm (55 kgf-cm, 47 in-lbf). Follow instructions to assemble the No. 1 inverter bracket in addition to front bumper cover and both front fender liners right-hand and left-hand. To complete the procedure you need to charge the refrigerant system followed by compressor warm-up and leak inspection.
