The installation of the exhaust pipe begins with attaching the heated oxygen sensor for Bank 2 to the exhaust pipe front while applying 44 Nm (450 kgf-cm, 33 ft-lbf) torque and connecting the sensor connector and inspecting the wire for twisting; re-install the sensor if twisting occurs. You must first apply the front pipe to the exhaust manifold after placing a new gasket and then tighten the exhaust pipe front with 2 nuts at 62 Nm (630 kgf-cm, 46 ft-lbf). Apply the same torque specifications while repeating the check on the wires for the heated oxygen sensor of Bank 1. To assembly the No. 2 exhaust front pipe you need two new gaskets and should install it to the exhaust manifold using 2 bolts and 2 nuts tightened to 62 Nm (630 kgf-cm, 46 ft-lbf) for the nuts and 48 Nm (490 kgf-cm, 35 ft-lbf) for the bolts. Proceed to measure the compression spring length with the vernier caliper before installation to validate its free length minimum requirement of 40.5 mm (4.5645 in.); replace the spring if it falls below this limit. Affix the exhaust pipe assembly front with new gasket and fasten 2 bolts and 2 springs through tightening them to 43 Nm (440 kgf-cm, 32 ft-lbf). A new gasket should be installed on the exhaust pipe center before attaching the tail pipe using 2 bolts torqued to 48 Nm (490 kgf-cm, 35 ft-lbf). Check for exhaust gas leaks.

The 2UZ-FE engine requires a new gasket before installing the exhaust pipe front to the exhaust manifold while securing the front exhaust pipe with 2 nuts tightened to 62 Nm (633 kgf-cm, 46 ft-lbf) torque specification. The installation of the No. 2 exhaust front pipe assembly requires placing two new gaskets and media between the manifold and front pipe before securing with two bolts and two nuts that should reach 62 Nm (633 kgf-cm, 46 ft-lbf) for the nuts and 48 Nm (489 kgf-cm, 35 ft-lbf) for the bolts. Vernier caliper examination of the exhaust pipe assembly center compression spring length must reveal at least 40.5 mm (1.5945 in.) otherwise replace the spring. Secure the exhaust pipe assembly front with 2 bolts and 2 springs while using a new gasket and tightening both bolts and springs to 43 Nm (440 kgf-cm, 32 ft-lbf). Put the exhaust pipe center gasket new on the tail pipe center then fasten it with two bolts tightened to 48 Nm (489 kgf-cm, 35 ft-lbf). The heated oxygen sensor for Bank 1 Sensor 2 requires installation on the exhaust pipe front with torque set to 44 Nm (450 kgf-cm, 33 ft-lbf) before connecting the sensor connector while checking for twisted wires that need removal and installation of the sensor. Reperform this method on the heated oxygen sensor for Bank 2 Sensor 2. Exhaust gas leaks need to be checked as the last step.

Remove the 2 bolts and 2 nuts to detach it.

Remove the 2 nuts and the exhaust pipe assembly front.

Measure the free length of the compression spring using a vernier caliper, ensuring it is at least 40.5 mm (1.5945 inch); replace if shorter.

Install a new gasket on the exhaust pipe center and attach the tail pipe with 2 bolts, torquing to 48 Nm (490 kgf/cm, 35 ft. lbs.), and inspect for exhaust gas leaks.
