    Q:
How to remove the Vapor Canister on Toyota Highlander? Posted by Customer
    A:
Initiating the replacement of the Evaporative Emission Control Canister requires you to begin by detaching both the tail exhaust pipe assembly and the center exhaust pipe assembly. The four bolts securing the No. 3 front floor heat insulator must be removed. First detach the charcoal canister assembly by unclipping its hose and connector and then unfasten the tube. To remove the charcoal canister fuel hose users should start by pinching the retainer then extracting the quick connector towards the pipe while pulling it from the pipe side. It is necessary to begin by clearing dirt and foreign matter from the quick connector then avoid part scratches and foreign objects during disconnection since the fuel hose connector uses an O-ring for sealing purposes. Perform the disconnection process by hand without any tools while avoiding unwarranted bending and twisting of the nylon tube. Cover the disconnected part of the charcoal canister fuel hose with a vinyl bag to maintain its protection. Gently push and pull the stuck quick connector and pipe to release them from each other. Finish the process by taking out the charcoal canister assembly with its 3 nuts.
