Rear Cable

Proficient removal of the parking brake cable begins with removing the rear wheel first. First disconnect the rear disc brake cylinder assembly LH by removing its 2 bolts while keeping the flexible hose intact before suspending the cylinder with wire attachment. Proceed with the procedure by first taking out the rear disc and continuing through the removal sequence with the parking brake shoe return spring and both No. 1 and No. 2 parking brake shoe assemblies LH before ending with the parking brake shoe lever sub-assembly LH. The vehicle technician should separate the No. 3 parking brake cable assembly from its current position. A cool box should be used to extract refrigerant from the refrigerator system when removing the front seat assembly LH. Proceed to remove the No. 2 instrument panel finish panel cushion, lower instrument panel pad sub-assembly LH, No. 1 instrument panel finish panel cushion, lower instrument panel pad sub-assembly RH, shift lever knob sub-assembly, lower center instrument cluster finish panel sub-assembly, rear upper console panel sub-assembly, console cup holder box sub-assembly, upper console panel sub-assembly, No. 1 cooler cover, rear console end panel sub-assembly, rear console box sub-assembly (if not equipped with a cool box), and the cooling box assembly (if equipped with a cool box). The service process for the No. 2 parking brake cable assembly requires adjustment of the adjusting nut followed by disconnecting it from the No. 1 parking brake pull rod while pinching the claws to push the cable beyond the vehicle edge. The 6 bolts secure the fuel tank while the vehicle inclines at certain angles for accessing both the No. 2 parking brake cable and its clamp. The No. 3 parking brake cable process consists of loosening the adjusting nut then disconnecting it from the No. 1 parking brake pull rod followed by claw pinching and slight cable push outside the vehicle before removing the 6 bolts and the No. 3 parking brake cable with its clamp.

Install the rear console box sub-assembly (w/o Cool Box), the cooling box assembly (w/ Cool Box), the rear console end panel sub-assembly, the No. 1 cooler cover (w/ Cool Box), the upper console panel sub-assembly, the console cup holder box sub-assembly, the rear upper console panel sub-assembly, the lower center instrument cluster finish panel sub-assembly, the shift lever knob sub-assembly, the lower instrument panel pad sub-assembly RH, the No. 1 instrument panel finish panel cushion, the lower instrument panel pad sub-assembly LH, and the No. 2 instrument panel finish panel cushion.

Install the parking brake shoe lever sub-assembly LH, followed by the No. 2 and No. 1 parking brake shoe assemblies LH, and the parking brake shoe return spring.
