    Q:
How to disassemble the brake master cylinder on Scion tC? Posted by Customer
    A:
The first step to disassemble a brake master cylinder begins with removing the stopper screw and master cylinder union and continues with taking off the 2 grommets from the master cylinder. Apply a vise to the master cylinder by inserting 2 aluminum plates after which you can remove the O-ring. Through the use of snap ring pliers the snap ring can be removed after pushing in the piston while taking care because brake fluid might escape. The first step involves pushing down the piston to detach the piston stopper bolt together with its gasket before taking the No. 1 piston directly from the master cylinder body without causing damage inside. Pull the No. 2 piston straight out from the master cylinder body by tapping the flanged part against wooden blocks until the end of the piston becomes visible. During this process be cautious to not scrape the interior.

    Q:
How to service and repair the brake master cylinder on Scion tC? Posted by Customer
    A:
Service and repair of the brake master cylinder starts with union removal done by disassembling stopper screw and master cylinder union and proceeding to eliminate the 2 grommets from the master cylinder. The next step involves fixing the master cylinder into a vise using 2 aluminum platforms before removing the O-ring from inside the master cylinder. Take out the snap ring by first pushing in the piston and following with snap ring pliers use but exercise caution since fluid will spit when pushing in the piston. Push the piston a second time after which the piston stopper bolt together with its gasket can be taken out. Removal of the No. 1 piston from the master cylinder body requires a straight pull because any scratches on its interior must be avoided. Complete the removal of the No. 2 piston from the master cylinder body by striking its flanged end against wooden blocks until the piston end is visible before removing it straight out. Follow the procedure without damaging the internal parts.
