Master Cylinder

The procedure to work on the brake master cylinder begins by disabling the ignition switch followed by performing twenty or more brake pedal depressions before starting. High-pressure conditions must be managed to prevent deformation of the brake actuator No. 1 tube while the ignition switch should remain off until all work finishes. Begin the procedure by disconnecting the cable from the negative battery terminal then drain the brake fluid while doing proper fluid cleanup of painted surfaces. Start the procedure by taking out the front door scuff plate along with the front floor footrest and footrest clip and cowl side trim board. First strip the Weather Strip from the front door opening and then take away the instrument panel No. 1 register assembly before disconnecting the hood lock control lever sub-assembly. Before further work remove the instrument panel lower finish panel sub-assembly while also disassembling the master cylinder push rod clevis. To remove the hydraulic brake booster first disconnect all three connectors then use a union nut wrench to disconnect its four brake tubes. Always label the lines before removing their four nuts and pulling out the hydraulic brake booster together with its gasket.

Slide the 2 clips with needle-nose pliers to remove the brake actuator hose No. 1.
