Brake Booster

The installation of the vacuum brake booster begins with the check valve grommet fix onto the booster then adds the brake vacuum check valve assembly to it. A new brake booster gasket should be installed onto the booster while attaching the brake master cylinder push rod clevis. The push rod clevis lock nut requires temporary tightening before the brake pedal height adjustment using a specified torque value. Use 4 nuts to assemble the brake booster assembly and torque them to 12.7 Nm (130 kgf-cm, 9 ft-lbf). Secure the push rod pin by applying lithium soap base glycol grease before installing it to the push rod clevis then finishing it with a clip according to the illustration. The installation of the vacuum hose through the check valve should occur after inspecting and adjusting the brake booster push rod. After integrating the brake master cylinder sub-assembly, install the ABS along with traction actuator assembly with bracket then connect the brake lines. Place brake fluid inside the reservoir before extracting air from the brake master cylinder and brake line along with the ABS and traction actuator assembly. Examine and modify the brake pedal's height and free play alongside its reserve distance before checking the reservoir fluid level along with looking for brake fluid leakages. Proceed with the installation of the 2AZ-FE air cleaner case sub-assembly along with the 2GR-FE air cleaner case according to their designated processes.

Remove the clip and pull the pin from the push rod clevis.

Apply lithium soap base glycol grease to the push rod pin, install it to the push rod clevis, and secure it with the clip, ensuring proper installation as shown in the illustration.

Check and adjust the brake booster push rod, connect the vacuum hose to the check valve, and reinstall the brake master cylinder sub-assembly.

Drain the brake fluid, ensuring to wash off any fluid that contacts painted surfaces.
