Brake Booster

The service and repair process of a hydraulic brake booster begins with removing the master cylinder then disconnecting the vacuum hose from the brake booster. The brake return spring components together with the clip and clevis pin should be removed first. After that remove the brake booster by unfastening its 4 installation nuts. The booster installation requires users to put a new gasket on the booster which must then be installed with installation nuts torqued to 14 Nm (145 kgf-cm, 10 ft. lbs.). The operating rod should receive the clevis component with the clevis pin inserted into the clevis and brake pedal before attaching the clip and installing the pedal return spring. Set Special Service Tool 09737-00010 on the fresh gasket to determine appropriate push rod length by operating the pin so it brushes against the master cylinder piston. Use the tool upside down on the booster to measure the push rod clearance at the pin head while adjusting the rod to make a gentle contact with the pin. The next step includes mounting the master cylinder while you also connect the vacuum hose to the brake booster then you should add brake fluid to the reservoir before bleeding your brake system. Users should first check for fluid leakage then verify and adjust the brake pedal before carrying out the operational check.
