Start the repair process on the rear upper control arm by eliminating the wheel from the rear axle. The service and repair process for rear upper control arms require disconnecting the skid control sensor wire for 2WD models while 4WD models require the disconnection of the rear speed sensor LH. Start the rear upper control arm LH removal by upholding the No. 2 suspension arm and separating its 2 bolts and 2 nuts from the upper control arm while holding the nuts in position for bolt removal. The installation of the rear upper control arm LH begins with temporary bolt-on using the 2 bolts and 2 nuts which must remain fastened while adjusting the bolt tension. Reinstall the skid control sensor wire for 2WD together with the rear speed sensor LH for 4WD before installing the rear wheel by using a torque of 103 Nm. The last step is to tighten the front part of LH rear upper control arm assembly by setting the 2 nuts secure then using a torque of 90 Nm (918 kgf-cm, 66 ft. lbs.) on the bolts.

Support the arm with a jack using a wooden or rubber block between the jack and the arm.

Connect the rear speed sensor LH.

Ensure it is torqued to 103 Nm (1,050 kgf-cm, 76 ft-lbf).

Begin by removing the rear wheel.
