The first step before Brake Actuator Assembly (W/O VSC) replacement requires draining brake fluid then immediately wiping away any fluid that sticks to painted areas. Start by removing the negative battery cable. You can then remove the brake actuator bracket through this process: disconnect its connector latch and use Special Service Tool: 09023-00101 to detach six brake tubes from the actuator while recording reconnect positions. The brake actuator with its bracket can be detached by removing three bolts while avoiding damage to brake tubes and wire harnesses. You should first remove the two nuts which will detach the brake actuator from its bracket holder. The installation method requires users to install the brake actuator on the bracket with 2 tighteners that need to be torqued to 8.0 Nm (82 kgf-cm, 71 inch lbs.) followed by attaching the brake actuator with bracket using 3 bolts at 19 Nm (194 kgf-cm, 14 ft. lbs.) but maintaining consistent brake tubes and wire harness integrity. Use Special Service Tool: 09023-00101 to properly position each brake line on the brake actuator before torquing to 15 Nm (155 kgf-cm, 11 ft. lbs.). Finally, reconnect the brake actuator connector. Use Special Service Tool: 09023-00101 to bleed the master cylinder followed by the brake line while inspecting for leakage and verifying the reservoir fluid level. After reconnecting the cable to the negative battery terminal owners should perform initialization steps when needed before using a hand-held tester to check the brake actuator.

Pull the lock lever upward, disconnect the actuator connector, and remove the 3 bolts to take out the actuator with bracket, taking care not to damage the brake tubes and wire harness.

Remove the 2 nuts to detach the brake actuator assembly from the brake actuator bracket.
