Toyota Solara Exhaust Pipe Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to install the exhaust pipe on Toyota Solara?
A: Align the keyway of the tail pipe baffle with the key location on the tail pipe before securing it with a plastic hammer. You should now install the tail exhaust pipe assembly with the help of 3 exhaust pipe supports. Use a new gasket to join the front exhaust pipe assembly with the exhaust manifold converter before tightening its 2 nuts to 62 Nm (632 kgf-cm, 46 ft-lbf). Place the rear exhaust pipe No.1 support bracket in correct direction and tighten its 2 bolts to 33 Nm (337 kgf-cm, 24 ft-lbf). The installation of the front exhaust pipe No.1 support bracket requires 2 nuts which should be tightened to 33 Nm (337 kgf-cm, 24 ft-lbf). Place the heated oxygen sensor bank 1 sensor 2 into the front exhaust pipe assembly after torquing it to 44 Nm (449 kgf-cm, 32 ft-lbf) then attach the connector. Place a fresh gasket between the center exhaust pipe assembly and the front exhaust pipe assembly at two bolt spots which require 56 Nm (571 kgf-cm, 41 ft-lbf) torque and repeat this procedure when attaching it to the tail exhaust pipe assembly through the use of additional new gasket and two nuts also torqued to 56 Nm (571 kgf-cm, 41 ft-lbf). Install the exhaust pipe damper while keeping its correct orientation using 2 bolts tightened to 19 Nm (194 kgf-cm, 14 ft-lbf). To install the floor panel brace rear apply two bolts before torquing them to 19.5 Nm (199 kgf-cm, 14 ft-lbf). The last step involves inspecting exhaust gas leaks and securely tightening potential leak sources before replacing any damaged parts when necessary.
