Service of the Air Bag Control Module begins with removing the front door scuff plate and rear door scuff plate followed by the center pillar lower garnish. The retractor of the front seat outer belt should be removed first followed by removal of the side Air Bag sensor assembly through a process beginning with cover removal before connector disconnection while keeping the sensor assembly installed on the connector. Proceed to remove the three bolts which maintain the side Air Bag sensor assembly. Place new SRS components during installments because reinstalling used parts from either different vehicles or accidented vehicles is prohibited. Install the side Air Bag sensor assembly with three bolts that require a torque of 20 N.m (205 kgf.cm, 15 ft.lbf). However, connect the connector only after the sensor assembly installation is complete with the required torque for securing. The sensor assembly must receive new replacement if it suffered a drop or demonstrates damage. Check that SRS wires maintain distance from other components and avoid any form of pinching. Before finalizing installation the sensor assembly must be checked for loose parts through shaking motions. Afterwards install the cover followed by the retractor of the front seat outer belt, center pillar lower garnish, rear door scuff plate and conclude with the front door scuff plate.
