Begin the process of removing the auxiliary battery by taking out the floor mat in the luggage compartment followed by removing the luggage trim service hole cover. Along with the negative terminal cable removal from the auxiliary battery you should wait 90 seconds before moving forward to avoid Air Bag and seat belt pretensioner activation. As part of the procedure disconnect the cable starting from the positive (+) terminal and then moving to the thermistor sensor connector before removing the battery room ventilation hose. Symmetrically unfasten the nut and bolts and remove the clamp leading to the extraction of the auxiliary battery. Note that only this model type requires the specific dealer replacement of its exclusive auxiliary battery.
