2009 Toyota Prius Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to remove the wiper switch on 2009 Toyota Prius?
A: A wiper switch removal process starts with disconnecting the negative battery terminal cable followed by waiting for at least 90 seconds to avoid triggering the Air Bag and seat belt pretensioners. Two cover layers must be removed starting with No. 2 steering wheel cover followed by No. 3 steering wheel cover. After uninstalling the steering wheel assembly you should proceed to remove the steering pad assembly and then the steering wheel assembly. Freeing the wiper switch requires you to remove the tilt lever bracket followed by the steering column cover from the assembly. Disconnect the connector from the wiper and washer switch assembly then disengage the claw by pushing it until removal of the windshield wiper switch while taking care not to break the claw.
