2007 Toyota Yaris Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to service and repair the fuel pressure regulator on 2007 Toyota Yaris?
A: Service and repair of the fuel pressure regulator requires starting with "Torx" socket wrench E10 to take out the rear seat cushion cover pad from all Hatchback and Sedan vehicles then continuing the work by removing the package tray trim panel assembly combined with deck board sub-assembly and deck floor box and rear seat leg covers for Hatchback vehicles. The initial step requires users to separate the rear seat assembly and rear floor service hole cover then proceed to disconnect the fuel pump connector. Begin the process by emptying fuel system pressure then detach the negative cable from the battery terminal. To disconnect the fuel tank main tube subassembly use pliers to widen the tube joint clip tip before pulling it out while keeping the O-ring clean from contaminants and refraining from instrumental assistance or mechanical force. The technician disconnects the fuel tank vent hose subassembly and removes its retainer using Special Service Tool: 09808-14020 (09808-01410, 09808-01420, 09808-01430). Pull out the fuel suction tube assembly with pump and gauge tube but maintain the sender gauge arm in its straight position and extract the fuel suction tube gasket from the fuel tank. To install the assembly first set a new fuel suction tube gasket onto the fuel tank and position the fuel pump protrusion through the cutout. Then install the assembly with caution to preserve the sender gauge arm's unbent condition. To install fuel pump gauge retainer properly, use the Special Service Tool by turning the retainer 540 degrees clockwise until the match marks align on the fuel tank before replacing it with part number 77144-52040. The installation of the fuel tank vent hose must be complete while installing the main fuel tube with special attention given to tube joint clip security along with the absence of scratches or foreign matter inside the tube. Install the rear floor service hole cover first before the fuel pump connector connection and continue by putting back the rear seat assembly and leg covers before setting up the Hatchback deck components. The negative battery terminal receives the cable connection with a precise torque of 5.4 Nm (55 kgf.cm, 48 in. lbs.) before performing fuel leakage inspection.
