2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser Yaw Sensor Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to service the Yaw Sensor on 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser?
A: The service process for the Yaw Rate Sensor must start with disconnecting the negative battery terminal cable. The first task requires you to remove both the parking brake hole cover subassembly while simultaneously taking off the shift lever knob sub-assembly regardless of whether you have Manual Transmission or 4WD. The first step involves removing the console upper rear panel followed by disconnecting and then removing the yaw rate and deceleration sensor through its connector while extracting the 2 bolts. Position the yaw rate and deceleration sensor using its two bolts at the proper angle before tightening bolts to 13 N.m (136 kgf.cm, 10 ft.lbf). Afterward, connect the sensor connector. Fix the console upper rear panel subassembly after which install the shift lever knob sub-assemblies for both 4WD and Manual Transmission and finally add the parking brake hole cover subassembly. The last step includes connecting the cable to the negative battery terminal with 3.9 N.m (40 kgf.cm, 35 in.lbf) torque then zero-point calibrating the yaw rate sensor before checking the VSC sensor signal.
