  A: Service and repairs of the throttle body begin with draining engine coolant followed by disconnecting the negative battery cable terminal and allowing at least 90 seconds for Air Bag and seat belt pretensioner deactivation. The engine cover removal starts with detaching 2 nuts before unfastening all connections to the mass air flow meter and purge VSV connectors, wire harness clamp, and discharging the No. 2 ventilation hose from the cylinder head cover and purge line hose from the throttle body and No. 1 air cleaner hose from the throttle body. Final steps are loosening the hook clamps to remove both the air cleaner cap with filter element.
