2006 Toyota Sequoia Exhaust Pipe Parts Q&A
Q: How to service and repair the exhaust pipe on 2006 Toyota Sequoia?
A: Service and repair of the exhaust pipe must start with heated oxygen sensor removal after sensor disconnection. Beginning with the exhaust manifold disconnect of the RH and LH front exhaust pipes requires removal of their 6 nuts and 2 gaskets before separating them from the exhaust manifold while you also remove 4 bolts and 2 gaskets and the 2 front exhaust pipes from the center pipe. The service procedure for the center exhaust pipe includes loosening the clamp bolt, disconnecting it and removing the exhaust tail pipe gasket before taking off its 5 rings and the center exhaust pipe. You must separate the exhaust tail pipe by removing its 2 rings. Place heat insulators first before installing the exhaust tail pipe with two rings. Lay five rings on the center exhaust pipe and attach it to the exhaust tail pipe with a new clamp that reaches 32 Nm torque (326 kgf-cm, 24 ft. lbs. measurement). The procedure requires installation of new gaskets and 6 nuts that should be twisted to 62 Nm (632 kgf-cm, 46 ft. lbs.) before both front exhaust pipes attach to the exhaust manifold. Finally, use 2 new gaskets and 4 bolts tightened to 48 Nm (489 kgf-cm, 35 ft. lbs.) to join the front exhaust pipes with the center exhaust pipe. Install the heated oxygen sensor with a torque of 44 Nm (450 kgf-cm, 33 ft. lbs.) and connect the heated oxygen sensor connector to its mating interface.
