  A: The first step to remove the starter motor includes disconnecting the negative battery cable and waiting at least 90 seconds to stop Air Bag and seat belt pretensioner activation. To start the process disconnect the starter connector followed by opening the terminal cap and then removing the nut from the starter wire and completing the operation by detaching the two bolts from the starter assembly. Fix the starter assembly into place using the two bolts while tightening them to 37 N.m (380 kgf.cm, 27 ft.lbf). Connect the starter wire with the nut before torquing to 9.8 N.m (100 kgf.cm, 7 ft.lbf), replace the terminal cap and remount the starter connector.
