2005 Toyota Tundra Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to remove and install the A/C Switch on 2005 Toyota Tundra?
A: Beginning the control assembly uninstall operation requires removal of the 3 heater control knobs alongside 5 screws from the center cluster integration panel followed by pulling the panel forward before disconnecting the connector. Continued removal includes the lower LH finish panel and heater to register duct No.2 combined with glove compartment door and lower No.2 finish panel and heater to register duct No.4 followed by unhooking heater control cables before you disconnect the heater control assembly through its connectors. Installation begins by connecting the connectors to the heater control assembly while the device travels into position; in case of using existing components reinstall them while utilizing new elements will require a complete install. The installation requires adjustments of heater control cables when both the mode control dial stands at "FACE" position and temperature control dial rests at "MAX. COOL" setting. The mode control cable adjustment starts by positioning the air inlet control link to "FACE" followed by control cable connection and clamp locking while pushing the outside cable in the shown direction. For each of the control cables (both air mix and water valve) the technician should follow the same routine and push the air inlet control link to the "COOL" position. Still overlook and install the heater to duct No.4 and also place the lower No.2 finish panel followed by glove compartment panel prior to heater to duct No.2 and the placement of lower LH finish panel. The center cluster integration panel installation requires disconnecting the heater control assembly cover when needed for replacement and connecting both connectors before screwing in 5 fasteners as well as installing 3 heater control knobs.
