2001 Toyota Sienna Seat Heater Parts Q&A
Q: How to replace the seat heater on 2001 Toyota Sienna?
A: The replacement of a seat heater starts by removing the front seat before taking off the seatback cover and seat cushion cover which needs to be turned inside out. Remove the seat wires through the process of removing three wires from the seat cushion cover and two wires from the seatback cover. The removal of the old seat heater requires cutting the 8 tack pins on both the seat cushion cover and seatback cover. The installation of the new heater requires placing the marked side toward the seat pads while using a tacker (BANZAI 303XT or its equivalent) to attach tack pins without substituting metal components that could harm the heater. The tack pins must be added to the seam side to enable wire passage from the fold side but sewing thread installation requires a minimum 6-7 mm (0.24 - 0.28 inches) space around both heater and cover areas. Three wires must be hidden inside the seat cushion cover and two in the seatback cover where the wire should cross over the seat heater. Reinstall the front seat while reversing the seat cover to its original state with the reinstallation of seatback cover followed by seat cushion cover.
