The next step involves disconnecting the connector used for the park/neutral position switch. Start the park/neutral position switch removal by breaking off the lock washer before you remove the nut then take out 2 bolts and the switch. The new park/neutral position switch installation requires securing it with 2 bolts which should be torqued to 5.4 Nm (55 kgf-cm, 48 inch lbs.) followed by installing a new lock plate and nut torqued to 6.9 Nm (70 kgf-cm, 61 inch lbs.) then bend the lock plate claws to lock the nut in place. Adjust the park/neutral position switch after which reattaching the park/neutral position switch connector. The control shaft lever must be installed with a washer under it while tightening the nut to 13 Nm (130 kgf-cm, 9 ft. lbs.). Next, attach the control cable with its nut secured to 15 Nm (150 kgf-cm, 11 ft. lbs.).
