- Q: How to replace the Vapor Canister on 2000 Toyota Solara?A: The replacement process for the Evaporative Emission Control Canister begins with removing the fuel tank assembly followed by pulling out the charcoal canister assembly while disconnecting the fuel tank vent hose by pushing the connector into the canister to reveal the locking tab. You should then pinch part A of the connector before removing it. First disconnect the VSV connector for CCV together with the fuel emission hose and the air inlet line hose while removing two bolts that fasten the charcoal canister. Append the charcoal canister assembly with 39.2 N.m torque (400 kgf.cm, 29 in.lbf) and reinstall the fuel tank assembly.
