The first step to take apart the steering wheel involves aligning the front wheels straight ahead before removing the 2 steering wheel lower No. 2 covers. A torx socket wrench can be used to loosen the 2 torx screws until the screw circumference groove catches on the screw case. diamond cut the wheel pad from the steering wheel while disconnecting the Air Bag connector by protecting both the Air Bag wire harness and maintaining the pad surface facing up. The first step involves extracting the steering wheel set nut after which the steering wheel and main shaft assembly receive matchmarks. The wheel removal requires use of Special Service Tool: 09950-50013 (09951-05010, 09952-05010, 09953-05021, 09954-05020) to proceed. To install the wheel system first position matchmarks between the steering wheel and main shaft properly and then fasten the steering wheel set nut with 50 Nm (510 kgf-cm, 37 ft. lbs.) torque before connecting the connector. During wheel pad installation always use new Air Bag components and check the tightened wheel pad torque along with inspecting for damage before linking the Air Bag connector. Screw installation requires the circumference groove of the torx screw to lock into the screw case before torquing the 2 screws up to 8.8 Nm (90 kgf-cm, 78 inch lbs.) and restoring the 2 steering wheel lower No. 2 covers. Inspect the steering wheel center point before concluding the examination.

Drive the vehicle in a straight line for 100 meters at a constant speed of 35 mph (56 km/h), maintaining the course with the steering wheel.

Install the steering wheel pad.
