The repair process for HVAC hoses requires complete refrigerant discharge from the refrigeration system at the beginning. The next step requires installation of the faulty tube or hose with responsive fitting closures to avoid system entry of moisture or dirt. Use proper torque wrenches to tighten the connections following the specified torque value while making sure the torque does not exceed this requirement. The vacuum process should start by emptying the refrigerant from the system followed by adding 500 plus or minus 30 g (17.64 plus or minus 1.06 oz.) of refrigerant. The inspector uses a gas leak detector for inspecting refrigerant leakage before completing the assessment of the air conditioning system.

Afterward, evacuate the air in the refrigeration system and charge it with 500 ± 30 g (17.64 ± 1.06 oz.) of refrigerant.

Inspect for any leakage of refrigerant using a gas leak detector and check the operation of the air conditioning system.
