The installation of the 2AZ-FE charging system generator assembly starts with attaching the wire harness clamp bracket through a 8.4 Nm (85 kgf-cm, 74 in-lbf) torqued bolt. Connect the crankshaft position sensor wire harness properly to the wire harness clamp bracket which exists at the ribbed back of the timing chain cover. The generator needs to be put into place with bolt A set at 21 Nm (215 kgf-cm, 16 ft-lbf) torque value to match bolt A and bolt B at 52 Nm (530 kgf-cm, 38 ft-lbf) torque value. Affix the two wire harness clamps then join the generator wire using a nut tightened to 9.8 Nm (100 kgf-cm, 7 ft-lbf). Install the terminal cap after which connect the generator connector then install the fan and generator V belt. You should install the front fender apron seal by attaching it to three clips and two screws. Before removing the cable from the negative terminal users must initialize the system while strict system requirements urge a complete disconnect and reconnect of the cable at the negative terminal.

The generator installation requires two bolts which should be torqued to 21 Nm (215 kgf-cm, 16 ft-lbf) and 52 Nm (530 kgf-cm, 38 ft-lbf) respectively. Put the wire harness clamps in place before connecting the generator wire with a nut torqued to 9.8 Nm (100 kgf-cm, 7 ft-lbf). After that, install the terminal cap and connect the generator connector. Place the engine belt around the generator and fan before attaching the front fender apron seal through three clips and two screws. Before completing the procedure you need to initialize the system according to manufacturing specifications when reattaching the negative battery terminal cable.

Start the alternator removal process by disconnecting the wire from the car's negative battery terminal then wait for 90 seconds to avoid kicking on the Air Bag pretensioners. Begin by removing the front fender apron seal from its right-hand point through 3 clip and 2 screw extraction. The following step involves taking out the fan and generator V belt. Change the process by detaching the generator connector and removing the terminal cap before removing the generator wire nut. Moving on with the procedure include 2 wire harness clamps before replacing the 2 generator bolts and after that unfasten the wire harness clamp bracket bolt.

Remove the bolt and cord clip, followed by the 4 bolts, and use Special Service Tool 09950-40011, 09951-04020, 09952-04010, 09953-04020, 09954-04010, 09955-04071, and 09957-04010 to remove the generator drive end frame.

Disconnect the generator connector, remove the terminal cap, and then remove the nut to disconnect the generator wire.

Simply remove the fan and generator V belt after the front fender apron seal is removed.

Remove the 2 wire harness clamps.
