Service of the rear wiper motor begins with disconnecting the cable from the negative battery terminal followed by a minimum 90-second wait to avoid activating Air Bag and seat belt pretensioners. The first step requires you to remove the rear wiper arm cover and rear wiper arm assembly by uninstalling its mounting nut. Begin service on the rear wiper motor by taking off the back door lower trim board assembly and the rear wiper motor assembly after removing its connected connector and its 3 bolts. Attach the rear wiper motor assembly through 3 bolts which need a torque of 5.5 N.m (56 kgf.cm, 49 in.lbf) when assembling while you reconnect the connector. Reset the back door lower trim board assembly and the rear wiper arm assembly into place making sure the wiper motor stops automatically. You should first clean the wiper arm serration with a round file and the wiper pivot serration with a wire brush before putting on the arm and blade using the nut which needs a torque of 5.5 N.m (56 kgf.cm, 49 in.lbf). First install the nut by holding down the arm hinge until alignment of the rear wiper blade with the defogger line is achieved. The last step includes battery cable reattachment at the negative terminal followed by system initialization procedures because some systems need a specific procedure after cable removal and reattachment.

It is advisable to hold down the arm hinge by hand while fastening the nut.

Reinstall the back door lower trim board assembly, then the rear wiper arm assembly, ensuring the wiper motor is stopped at the automatic stop position.

Remove the 3 bolts to detach the windshield wiper motor.

Stop the rear wiper motor assembly at the automatic stop position and install the rear wiper arm assembly with the nut, ensuring it is torqued to 5.5 Nm (56 kgf.cm, 49 in.lbf). It is advisable to hold down the arm hinge by hand while fastening the nut.

Operate the front wipers with water or washer fluid to check for proper function and clearance.

Detach the 8 clips.
