Fuel Pump

Service and repair of the fuel pressure regulator starts with removing the fuel tank assembly and proceeding to detach the fuel tank main tube sub-assembly and its tube joint clip, inspect the O-ring for contaminants while refraining from tools that could potentially damage components. First remove the fuel tank vent tube set plate by gently unscrewing its 8 bolts while preparing for the fuel hose disconnect and extracting the fuel suction with pump assembly from the fuel tank without damaging the fuel pump while removing the gasket. Work with needle-nose pliers to remove the E-ring from the wire harness while disconnecting and then detach both springs and claws to extract the sub-tank assembly using small forceps on the E-ring. Finally disconnect the jet pump nozzle and extract it carefully with the screwdriver tip. The removal step includes removing the O-ring. Use a screwdriver to loosen the bracket by severing its two claws. When installing the fuel pump assembly start by connecting the pump harness connector and applying petrol to the new O-ring before installation below the fuel filter while securing the fuel pump through 5 claw attachments. Procedure for installing the fuel sub-tank assembly includes applying gasoline to the jet pump O-ring before aligning and attaching it as well as securing the jet pump nozzle and using claws to secure the sub-tank while reconnecting the wire harness before installing springs onto fuel suction plate shafts and using needle-nose pliers to install a new E-ring. You need to place a new gasket on the fuel pump before connecting the fuel hose and fitting the fuel pump back into the fuel tank while checking that the fuel pump filter stays unharmed. The fuel tank vent tube set plate installation requires 8 bolts with a torques setting to 4.0 N.m (41 kgf.cm, 35 in.lbf) before attaching the fuel tank main tube sub-assembly including its tube joint clip. Scratches and foreign objects must be checked during installation to ensure proper fuel tube joint insertion and clip positioning. The completion of the fuel tank installation process follows last in this procedure.
