The first step to work on the brake caliper starts with removing the front wheel following a torque of 103 Nm (1,050 kgf-cm, 76 ft. lbs.). First disconnect the brake line through the removal of its union bolt and two gaskets from the caliper before disconnecting the flexible hose while applying 30 Nm (310 kgf-cm, 22 ft. lbs.) torque. Set a container beneath the caliper while draining brake fluid. Begin caliper removal by uninstalling the 2 mounting bolts using a technique of 123 Nm (1,250 kgf-cm, 90 ft. lbs.). Start by taking out the clip and the 2 pins and proceed to remove the 2 pad retainer clips before extracting the 2 pads along with their anti-squeal shims and pad retainers. To install the brake pads you need to follow the reverse order of removal steps while filling the brake reservoir with brake fluid followed by bleeding the brake system and leak inspection.

Reassembly follows the reverse order of disassembly, applying lithium soap base glycol grease to the indicated parts.

Begin by removing the 4-cylinder boot set rings and cylinder boots using a screwdriver.

Hold the sliding pin and loosen the 2 installation bolts, which should be torqued to 26 Nm (270 kgf cm, 20 ft. lbs.), then remove these bolts and take the caliper off the torque plate.

Disconnect the flexible hose by removing the union bolt and gasket, ensuring to catch any draining brake fluid in a container.
