    Q:
How to service and repair the rear Sway Bar Kit on Toyota Land Cruiser? Posted by Customer
    A:
Start sway bar kit service along with repair by first taking off the rear wheels while applying 131 Nm of torque (1,340 kgf-cm, 97 ft. lbs.). Position a jack beneath the rear axle housing before you detach the 4 sway bar bracket bolts at 18 Nm (185 kgf-cm, 13 ft. lbs. torq. from both LH and RH positions. Continue with sway bar kit removal by unbolting its four parts through torque force of 18 Nm (185 kgf-cm, 13 ft. lbs.) and then disconnect its two brackets with bushings from the sway bar kit. You need to detach the sway bar links from their position on the sway bar kit by unwiring the nut then removing all 3 retainers and 2 cushions to separate the link from the bracket while tightening it to a torque of 15 Nm (150 kgf-cm, 11 ft. lbs.). Follow the same steps on the second side and remove the sway bar links together with the nuts and bolts and maintain a torque at 26 Nm (270 kgf-cm, 19 ft. lbs.). Next uninstall the sway bar kit collars and cushions. The installation process should follow the steps in the reverse order of what was performed for removal.
