Removal of the side air bag requires users to hold both outer flank sides while sliding the outer part in the direction shown by arrows until the connector lock disengages to permit disconnected wires. Keep both outer flank sides in contact to avoid complicating the process. The connector must be aligned as shown in the pictures to establish connection precisely while the outer part should return to its initial position and produce an audible lock mechanism; users must not grasp the outer component while linking to avoid installing it improperly.

It is crucial to perform the initialization if the occupant classification ECU is replaced, accessories such as a seatback tray or seat cover are installed, the passenger seat is removed, both the SRS warning light and passenger airbag ON/OFF indicator light ("OFF") illuminate, or the vehicle is brought in for repair due to an accident.

It is crucial to prevent unexpected deployment during servicing, which could lead to serious accidents.

Always use new SRS parts and never reuse or attempt to repair damaged components.

Avoid holding the outer during connection to prevent an insecure fit.
