The installation of the exhaust pipe begins with clutching the 5 exhaust pipe supports to the body. A free length check using a vernier caliper should be done on the compression spring; when the measurement falls below 40.5 mm (1.594 in.) it requires a replacement. Set the exhaust manifold gasket level using a wooden block combined with a plastic-faced hammer. Orient the gasket properly before choosing a new gasket instead of retusing any components. The front exhaust pipe requires installation with 2 compression springs and 2 bolts which need tightening to 43 Nm (440 kgf-cm, 32 ft-lbf). The front exhaust pipe installation requires a new gasket on the pipe before mounting the 2 supports for the center exhaust pipe assembly with two bolts torqued at 43 Nm (440 kgf-cm, 32 ft-lbf). Check the free length of the compression spring during tailpipe assembly installation because a measurement lower than 38.5 mm (1.516 in.) requires replacement. Install a fresh gasket that faces directly with the center exhaust pipe but avoid reusing it. Securely place the tailpipe onto its three supports before installing two compression springs with two bolts that should be torqued to 43 Nm (440 kgf-cm, 32 ft-lbf). The technician must install the heated oxygen sensor located at Bank 1 Sensor 2 before connecting the cable to the battery negative terminal for exhaust gas leak detection. End the installation process by attaching the front floor panel brace and torquing its 4 bolts to 29.6 Nm (300 kgf-cm, 22 ft-lbf) while maintaining the right orientation before running system initialization after reconnecting the negative battery terminal.

The first step to remove the 2AZ-FE exhaust pipe starts with disconnecting the battery negative cable followed by a minimum 90-second wait period to avoid Air Bag and seat belt pretensioners from activating. The second step requires extraction of the heated oxygen sensor positioned on Bank 1 Sensor 2. The first step includes removing the front floor panel brace by unfastening its 4 bolts. The exhaust tailpipe assembly removal requires the disassembly of two bolts and release of two compression springs to enable separation of the tailpipe from three supporting pipes that must have their gasket removed from the center exhaust pipe. To uninstall the center exhaust pipe assembly begin by deleting the 2 bolts which releases it from 2 pipe supports while recovering the gasket found near the front exhaust pipe. A complete front exhaust pipe assembly removal process requires the operator to disconnect the 2 bolts and 2 compression springs along with the front exhaust pipe and its gasket on the manifold. Finish the task by taking away the 5 exhaust pipe supports from the body.

Measure the free length of the compression spring, which must be at least 38.5 mm (1.516 in.), replacing it if necessary.

Check for exhaust gas leaks and reinstall the front floor panel brace with 4 bolts, torquing to 29.6 Nm (300 kgf-cm, 22 ft. lbs.), ensuring correct orientation.

Measure the free length of the compression spring; if it is less than 38.5 mm (1.516 in.), replace it. Tap a new gasket flush with the center exhaust pipe, ensuring correct orientation and that it is not reused.
